In fairness it's probably not delusion: more like self-protection

he can't be seen by a protective Board to be saying "Well I made another bollocks of that, eh? never mind, next season'll be great, speshly when we get Linvoy over here".

Unlike some who post on here, I still don't dislike Worthy, and recognise a lot of his mistakes as ones which many others would've made. the 451 last night for example - a confident manager wouldn't have done it - but one who is experiencing stress and self-doubt would, every time. "It worked against Leeds, it ought to work again, and these aren't as good as Leeds so it ought to come out as a win".

A lot of the things he's done, and a lot of the things he's failed to do, have shown classic signs of someone who's clinging on to the last shards of his self-belief.

having said this, I still can't fathom 433 vs reading.

Or Hughes. And while I think Robinson could look decent in a strng midfield, I can't understand why he was considered a good idea in a side with practically no midfield whatsoever. And I can't fathom his reluctance to sign a RM. OK so i can understand he doesn't want a Huckerby on both flanks, but you don't have to have that. A right-mid, Nigel, not a tricky winger. Someone who is comfortable on the right flank. Nigel..... someone who IS GOOD on the right. NIGEL!!!!!!
