We are unquestionably making progress

Last week we had a centre back at right back and a left winger on the right wing, but since we didn't have a left back in central midfield that is progress of a sort.
And since the transfer windows have now closed we won't be engaging in any unnecessary trafnsfer activity. So that is progress too.
But for it to count as turning a corner we'd have to start practising things like passing, free kicks and corners in training. Which isn't going to happen.
