i'm in a tiny minority so just have to suck it up, not nice though

i get the rationale but the blunt force crass arbitrary way it was imposed pretty much destroyed most of the joy of going up, for me anyway. that's a tad drama queen i know but, if it walks like a duck etc. it's not even as if they didn't listen, they didn't even ask.
