i loathe golf, it's my inability to do anything else other than try and whack the thing as hard as possible and it all gets crap from tee 1. i've never been in a golf clubhouse in this country but i get where you are coming from. i played golf in liberia on the firestone rubber plantation and it's a very good golf course because entrepreneureal young lads sit in the bush on ice boxes full of chilled beer all round the course and sell them, which doesn't help the golf much but it seems to make the whole ordeal more tolerable.
