I’ve had a long hard think about this

First of all, it’ll probably be too many words, but that’s a shame. Such is life.

Also, I appreciate the positive comments from many people. Cheers.

Obviously, Dumping, if you’re reading this, which I’m sure you will, you are completely entitled to state any point of view on a public message board and I’d never attempt to deny you or anyone that. I’ve got no issue with that at all.

But, to answer a few points, I’ll start with an obvious one: I don’t feel bullied. Mainly because that would indicate that there is some kind of advantage which you’re able to use against me. This *is* what you’re trying to do, of course. That is how bullies work, but in this case you have less than nothing, so there’s no way I can be bullied. What I do feel is the way I felt when we were burgled (more than once, unfortunately) - not the feeling of my private space being violated but the anger that someone has taken things of mine that I liked.

Furthermore, the tone of moral indignation that you tried to strike was way out of line. I don’t need to quote the significant number of times you’ve directly abused those that you disagree with - “you f**king thick t**t” is a particular favourite, along with the patronising “Sonny Jim” - only to subsequently try to claim to be merely exercising a right to ‘debate’. The shape-shifting way in which you develop your arguments is a classic hallmark of those unfamiliar with the truth.

Anyway, I’d like to point out a few things, for the avoidance of doubt.

Firstly, I have *never* used my work network or computer to post on any kind of social media, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, or obscure football-related message boards. The only times I post, it’s on my phone using my data at my own cost and, most importantly, at break or lunchtime or, rarely, during non-contact hours. It’s my business.

Secondly, at no point have I ever named anyone or anywhere, nor have I ever been specific about anything other than the undeniable fact that a person or persons with whom I work has what can only best be described as a poor relationship with common workplace etiquette. And yes, I have mentioned it to the management, in very similar terms to my posts on here. Strangely (not strangely really) they were more concerned with what I was complaining about rather than the fact that I’d brought it to their attention.

All I’ve done that you could in any way feel the slightest justification to complain about is to share publicly the fact that I work with someone unhygienic. This has no bearing on being a role model, let alone run any risk of involving students or the good reputation of my place of work. In fact the only person not being a good role model is the unknown person I have the misfortune to share a toilet with. This has become something of a meme (in the proper sense) on this website. Sorry if you don’t like it and have to “put up with it”, as you wrote. It’s just humour and not in the slightest a poor reflection on anyone taking part in it. It also most certainly did not “drag [your] name into it”, unless your name is actually Dumpling, in which case you have my sympathy.

Finally, what I posted on Friday night. I work five days a week in challenging circumstances with a significant number of what one might call challenging people. I really don’t need any extra t**ttery in my life. I don’t want or have to spend my time on social media, which is what this is, defending myself against what can best be described as either misguided vigilante attacks tilting at windmills or less flatteringly and probably more accurately as vindictive trolling. So, and please don’t take this the wrong way, you can do one. When you’ve done that, do it again.

Yeah, too many words. TL;DR - please post your own suggestions.
