You are likely to have some Europeans in your social, school or work networks. Have a chat with them and see what their (and their family's/friends' experiences are). Its not everyone, its not everywhere, but its not isolated to far right groups/nutjobs.

I think its as much to do with social media as Brexit. They get away with this s**t on there (and get their likes/retweets), so assume they can get away with it in real life too.
