‘Harry’ (who’ll be a regular under another name) doesn’t care whether it was true or not

and never did. The method of the right and populism now is just to continually cast doubt on the veracity of anything unfavourable to them. Sow doubt, so that people become unsure whether they can believe anything. ‘Project Fear’, ‘Enough of experts’ etc. And then once people don’t know whether they can believe anything, the door is open to any lies you want to tell.

So it’s just a cumulative thing. He’ll be back, under another name, the next time something he doesn’t like starts being discussed.
