Not sure why you think I'd trash it cos I don't think I'm that horrible and besides it's only Interpol that are s**t. But anyway, here's some of the things we did with some links where I remember:
Day 1
Train left Kings X 15 mins late but endless free wine more than made up for it. Arrived in Edinburgh late afternoon and made our way to apartment which was was in Old Town. Unpacked and went out to this place for burger, wine and beer User Posted Link Can confirm the burger and beef dripping fries are f**king good
Day 2
Early start and back to Waverley to catch ScotRail train to Dundee. Lots of great bridges and coastal views later we arrived in sunny Dee. Straight over to V&A and 4 hours fly by. Big shout out to User Posted Link exhibition and the User Posted Link the V&A building and staff, one of who was very funny. Left there and went to User Posted Link via a couple of shops and said hi to the penguins. On way back to station went to User Posted Link and bought some records
Back in Edinburgh went and ate here in evening User Posted Link Good food but service a bit off at times. First of many French places we ate at or saw
Day 3
Caught bus to Leith but area didn't work out at first. So we ended up here User Posted Link having a cheeky Croque Monsieur (more French) whilst we decided what to do; it was great. Went to Flux after and then f**ked up the canal walk and got lost. Got back to the apartment, Eventually.
Day 4
Went on a walking tour around West End, Deansgate, Stockbridge via whisky pub and normal pub. We loved, LOVED Stockbridge and the tour was excellent. Went to this record shop after User Posted Link and bought more vinyl. Overall preferred all the areas owe visited over Old Town and endless shortbread and tartan shops
As it was Burns Night we went somewhere a bit foodie at the base of Carlton Hill: User Posted Link Didn't enjoy it that much although lots of the food was lovely
Day 5
Walked over to User Posted Link for Sunday lunch. The hotel was a bit footballers wives for us but the food was amazing: the sharing hamper and shepherds pie was soooo yummy. Afterwards we went back to Stockbridge and had a wander around. Want to move to Ann St or somewhere near it; loads of wicked houses and lovely streets with river bubbling along next to it.
Day 6
Got up early and walked up Arthur's Seat to catch the sunrise which was lovely. Back to apartment via Em's Kitchen who did a great Scottish brekkie for me but sadly Mrs had pancakes which were like rubber so she didn't eat them. Whilst eating we found out LNER had cancelled our train which was rather unexpected and rather stressful. But eventually we got on one and we're now home albeit later than we wanted
All in all a cracking few days away. Want to go back plus stay in Glasgow and take Fort William train too...
