I'm not sure the strong financial situation means

That we'll be spending on players who are 'ready'.

Do ready players have something to prove? Would they destabilise the team?

I suspect our financial clout will be largely invisible (spent on wages and player/success bonuses). Which makes a lot of sense, but could also be a stick for some fans to beat the owners with.
