I can excuse bad metaphors. It is his second language, after all.
The salesman analogy works if you have a decent product to sell at the right price. We have a fine product but it’s a bit unreliable and fixing it is pricy. When it works it’s the best but circumstances have to be ideal.
Actually, it’s a better analogy than I thought...
