to make was that we shouldn’t just accept the views of people who think differently to us (as you seemed to be implying to APB) at least not if we think they’re wrong.
I was just clumsily trying to say that if someone was arguing for more slavery (for example) we wouldn’t think ‘Oh well different view to mine but I’d better accept it’ because we’ve moved on as a society. I feel the same about the statement this woman is making. We’ve moved on. Why does she feel the need to make a thing about it?
As I said before, if she wants to live like that fine, no problems. I also completely agree with Simon, there should be no be no stigma involved in the role of looking after a home and family (whoever is doing it) but it certainly doesn’t need to be labelled as returning to a 1959 wife with all the connotations that come with it.
Still not sure I’ve really expressed what I feel.
