I know what you mean.

It’s just I enjoyed the days of Trescothick, Strauss, Vaughan (and even Cook at times) and others starting innings with a bit of impetus rather than turgid resilience, which gave the later batsmen like Pietersen, Bell and co the freedom and the time to do something, rather than kind of losing two sessions of time and only having 100 on the board.

I do kind of admire it, but it can be a hard watch.
