Yes those conversations are hard. You try and prepare them by retaining

a sense of realism so that when it happens it wont be such a blow but then recently i've been thinking that maybe I should just let him retain his unrealistic optimism!

He got it completely when I said to him that at the start of the season we would find it very tough because all the other teams have more money than us and he knows that every game is tough so we can;t ever expect an easy game but he looked a bit down this weekend when I said to him that we possibly already have left ourselves too much to do to get out of the bottom three!
