The players predominantly signed new long term contracts 6 months ago, knowing relegation was a possibility/probability.
The club are financially secure and have no need to sell. Indeed financial gain from selling players reduces the likelihood a lucrative first season promotion.
There are obviously players who will leave. Klose, Fahrmann, Amadou and Duda.
Leitner is a bit of an enigma. I get the feeling that he may have been a naughty boy off the field - so he may depart. Rupp a replacement?
I would not be surprised if we sold Aarons to a top club for a healthy sum of money and maybe also Cantwell in the summer if we are relegated but I doubt it would be more than 2 or 3 direct sales.
Equally, I can see Webber and Farke just keeping the entire team together and investing in a new group of foetuses with potential for the academy. The team have a track record of promotion from the championship and the year in the prem will have probably improved them considerably.
I would imagine the club would have plans for if they were in a non-relegation zone place now and plans for if relegation were looking probable. That these plans were made many months ago and discussed/agreed/costed back then. Webber and his team don't strike me as the make it up as you go along types. Far more professional than that.
Anyway, what do I know
