We obviously aren't going to agree. I don't think Beattie is all THAT good, certainly not good enough for England. He's been an average-at-best Prem striker for a long time now. He is obviously better than Horse but a similar sort of hustle/bustle, muscular, elbows out type of striker. Hence my description of him as a "rich man's Horsfield". He can do things Horsefield can't, but he's still only an average-at-best Prem striker.
Obviously if you rate Beattie more highly you won't agree the characterisation. But it's a lot more accurate than calling Gerrard a rich man's Hughes, there being no relevant point of comparison between them at all.
