The inherent error in the measurement was far greater than the

margin by which he was ruled offside. It's like a speed camera saying you were doing 31 mph in a 30 limit when the technology is only accurate +/- 10%. Any court would throw out a conviction based on that.
It's not fit for the purpose for which they're using it.
