I’m thinking of Botham and Flintoff.

Similar players, similar talents. But they both kind of burned out, in different ways, due to the intense nature of their games. Botham completely lost his pace after two or three years (and a couple of injuries and living large) but luckily was able to use his skills and nous to carry on taking wickets. Flintoff had plenty of problems with fitness and injuries so really only had about 4-5 years at his best. Stokes has been doing this for about 4 years (including an enforced break...) so realistically I’m not sure how long he can keep it up. Enjoy it while it lasts.
