You made my point more clearly than I did!

I think we know Stokes shouldn’t be captain - already too much responsibility on his shoulders, and making him skipper just reeks of the Flintoff & Botham disasters.

Then you mention 4 other potentials - Buttler, burns, woakes, moeen. And that’s the point - Buttler the closest of those to being guaranteed a place, and he is hardly nailed on (particularly if Bairstow ever gets his way and gets the gloves again, or if our *best* keeper ever gets picked again).

Agree it is starting to look like Burns is the solution to our opener problem. So may end up being him. Still only averaging in the low 30s though.
