It's not. We're still dead and buried though.

We're 7 points off where I think we needed to be at this point. OK, that's not completely hopeless... but we can't keep clean sheets and we're not reliable enough with our chances either.

In retrospect, the writing was always on the wall for the following reasons:

1. No spending in the summer (or next to none, at least).

2. The injury crisis - but the lack of spending was a hostage to fortune in that sense

3. 57 goals leaked even as brilliant, worthy Champions last season. That's just way too many. Sheffield United, by contrast, conceded 41.
