I'm not sure why we put so much defensive responsibility on his shoulders

firstly, it means he's knackered after about 60 mins every game from doing shuttle runs all match. And secondly he's not very good at it.

He's by far out most creative player. We should give him a free role and tell him just to come into life in the final third. Get some limited workhorse like Mclean to do his running.
