In my dad's day (late 50s/early 60s), at Lincoln City, he played on 25 +26 Dec

1957 they played Fulham (incl Johnny Haynes & Jimmy "the chin" Hill) away and then next day again at home!
Lost both. He did hit the post. Said he felt like was ready to die after the 2nd match.
