I agree with you. I'm fine with having a high tax system where everyone pays relatively high taxes. That's fair.
Just increasing the burden on those that earn the most isn't fair unless it's correcting an existing inequality (which per the IFS, it is not).
To be clear, I'm not effected by the 60% marginal rate of tax, but I aspire to be one day, and I'm not ashamed to say that, why should I be? A marginal rate of over 60%, or even higher if Corbyn had his way, is clearly not fair within the context of the UK income tax system as a whole.
