There are not enough hospitals/beds to cope with the demands at peak times yes

The NHS facilities available have not kept pace with demand over a very long period.

I don't recall it being much different when I was younger. There were long waits at A&E. There were often stories about bed shortages and the NHS under strain. We have an aging population and a population that has grown by about 7 million in just over a decade. Its something that neither party has adequately got to grips with.

If being fair and looking at the whole picture would you acknowledge that the PFI repayments that hospitals such as this one have to make have not helped the situation?
