this isn't the case in sports like rugby, where everything in the build up is reviewed after a possible try.

And it's why imo it doesn't really work in football like it does in other sports - too many variables in what affects a goal. A wrong throw-in or corner call affects a goal, yet isn't checked.

I'm in favour of VAR in principle, but in practice, right now, it doesn't work as it should.
