I've seen plenty of bizarre VAR decisions in other countries, especially Germany, but they don't get the attention here that Prem VAR does. The only question is whether it is overall better - it is never going to be perfect and it isn't anywhere else either. My main gripe is with it getting involved (for ages) in nitpicking borderline decisions rather than just fixing obvious errors.
The aim was surely to stop teams feeling they were robbed - if a decision is borderline then either nobody is entitled to feel robbed or somebody is bound to whatever the decision, so VAR adds nothing whatsoever.
