Agree with your point regarding someone who's willing to accept relegation, my preference being someone with some physical presence so we have option to bully teams ourselves.
Disagree that summer signings have been disastrous - Byram is a bargain, Amadou hasn't had a decent run in midfield (remember Everton and Arsenal) and God only knows about Robert's.
