Further to Saucerer's post re Ron Saunders,

he was a ruthless bugger. Remember in our first season in Div 1 we were struggling, looking like going down. He brought in a bearded beast called Trevor Hockey in midfield, swapping him for the fans favourite Jim Bone. Hockey played about 12 matches till the end of the season, kept us up. Then Ron said 'great, thanks, off you go'.
Yes I agree, our best manager ever.
