Stripping out parachute payments, revenue was the 3rd highest in the division. Not a bad measure of underlying 'size' of club, that (at least for that season - of course can change if attendances drop etc).
Gets at a question someone asked on here the other day - as a self-funding club, could we only survive in League One?
Suggests that if *everyone* was self-funding - ie, they tried to operate without actually losing bundles of money every season - then we should be comfortably up there competing for promotion to the premier league (or better - we might have higher underlying revenue than some clubs who are there at the moment).
Of course, no sign of that - everyone trying to operate without huge losses - happening any time soon...
