In the championship that flick probably would have beat his player and a rapture of applause would follow; in the PL you can’t get away with stuff like that as the opposition are more switched on and technically better.

I have no suggestions as to how we can try and get out of this dire mess as going forward there is no plan b. When we had Rhodes (not PL standard I know) at least we could rest Pukki and bring him off to keep him fresh, we just don’t have that option.

This is a young squad and had we spent £20-30m to give the players support I really do feel this team could have flourished and gone places. We just look a shell of our former self.

Let’s hope we can at least try and have a good fA Cup run this season, but I very much doubt DF would play a ‘strong’ team regardless of the opposition. They clearly haven’t taken staying up as a top priority by investing, so at least give the cup a good crack.
