and that's probably a better approach to Corbyn et al's historical position - yes, we said x, y, z, yes we supported x, y, z, but we did it for these reasons, and it's time to move on.
but I don't accept some of their more mealy mouthed excuses (they look very like evasions to me) and I do continue to find things they said revealing of characteristics and broader attitudes that are unpleasant - much as the new Norfolk candidate (about whom i know not the first thing - and clearly for this reason a bonkers nomination) has got to explain (at least) how he came to say what he said and what he meant
