it's one thing to support the republican cause - it's another to support violent means of advancing it - esp since, as you will know, the ira was hardly the most virtuous of organisations in its wider activities

nonetheless as i say, my experience is that whenever the subject's come up, many people just look a bit blank and "so what" about the whole thing - as i say, i think it's been treated as just one of those things from the 70s and who cares.

seems to me that the next 20 years might just end up as re-run of the 60s and 70s, lived through by a new generation
