we got away with it last year because our attacking play papered over a lot of cracks

we don't have that luxury this year as PL defences are much tighter, PL midfield battles are much tougher, and PL attackers are much better. (All generalisations, but...)

We're on the back foot more and we don't have the same outlets to relieve that pressure.

And yet if we could play our DMs in their proper places, and had more fit CBs to choose from, we might still be keeping heads above water.
