Essentially cladding that meets standard is approved and therefore approved materials

meet regulation.

the cladding meets the class 0 standard and therefore met the external walls section in the regs.

it didn't however meet the insulation section.

Essentially the surface was fireproof which was what was required to install on external walls of buildings above 18m. however the internals were not fireproof and did not meet regs and therefore should not have been installed.

It's a massive contradiction and that is also why insurers are not willing to pay out to replace as at the time it met the building reg...
