We are picking up a lot of muscle and ligament injuries. It’s not like people are suffering broken legs.
I think (and stand to be corrected if people have the evidence) that overtraining can make players more susceptible to muscular and ligament type injuries.
Someone above said we hadn’t changed our training methods from last season. The quotes from Domogella suggest we have and have been incorporating more high intensity sprints into our training. We can have differing opinions on this, nobody can prove it either way but I find it difficult to dismiss entirely the possibility that the number of injuries we are picking up (especially on training) is not partially linked to the fact that the players are doing more high intensity sprint work or more recently having to rush back players or play players who are not 100% fit. The immediate cause of an injury (ie heavy tackle) is not always the only contributory factor to an injury.
Bad luck of course has played a role here too no doubt.
