it effectively gives the DUP the ability to unilaterally change the status of Norn Iron

from the status quo of being aligned to the EU

(sorry, a very important word is missing from my original post, it should've been 'spirit of the GFA')

as it stands a majority of the Unionist parties and a majority of the Nationalist parties have to vote for and agree on matters of such importance - this absolutely flies in the face of that principle
