It's absolutely nothing to do with being/not on "my side"

(I'm not even sure I can find "my side" visibly represented out there) - the complete loss of civility and respect in argument is endemic - and I suspect we're going to have (re)learn, the hard way, that the words we use, and the ways we express ourselves, really do matter.
