I guess I see 2 key issues

1) The 2017 election returned 650 MPs. 589 were elected on leave manifestos [317 Tory / 262 Labour / 10 DUP] and 54 on remain manifestos. There is a clear dissociation between the electoral pledges and the subsequent actions of many of our politicians.

2) 498 MPs triggered the Article 50 process. This has three outcomes; pass the withdrawal act and leave with a deal, revoke A50 or leave with no deal. They seem to be opposed to each of these outcomes. They a fighting for the right to continue to not decide. It is not like Boris has removed their ability to support any of these options or to have an election.

The last thing either side wants is a continuation of this purgatory.
