Yes, it would probably have been given more often than not. But VAR has to find clear evidence to overrule the ref I think and in that case it wasn't there.

I agree that if the ref had checked himself he may have overruled his own decision, we do have to be careful to make sure though that it is the ref at the game and not hundreds of miles away that is making the 'grey area'calls
