Cameron came across as woefully naive

Unaware of how his own austerity policies were fostering the discontent that led to Brexit. There was no reflection on that. It was all “the EU f**ked me by giving me nothing”, or “Gove f**ked me”. Which is also true, but not the root cause.

Bottom line is, if ordinary folk on this country had better lives there wouldn’t just have been no Brexit vote, but there wouldn’t have been the groundswell of discontent to give cockroaches like Farage the oxygen to form a movement.

The irony of course, is that those people should have voted Cameron out in 2015 and their lives would have been better. But instead they elected a Tory government which immediately set about f**king them, then voted to cut their own throat by voting Brexit, and now (if the polls are to be believed) are likely to vote in Boris to crash through a no deal Brexit opening up themselves to all the disaster capitalist steps that will follow.

The public gets what the public wants, as Paul Weller once said. And it will deserve all it gets at the end of this sorry tale.
