It’s a little know fact that after the war, all countries in Europe

banned the use of spoken English so that they could re-instate their own national languages after the displacement of so many people. It was not until Mr and Mrs APB smuggled in Betamax copies of Allo Allo in the early eighties that our fine language proliferated across the plains of Europe.
