I regularly cross that road and further down by Blackfriars/Ludgate Circus

It is an accident waiting to happen (and they frequently do happen) and the cycle superhighway has been very badly planned and a bit of a nightmare (for everyone, cyclists included who often get hit by lorries/cars).

Pedestrians are not looking for cyclists when they go to cross the road (you look for traffic and can often miss the fact there is a cycle lane if you don't frequent the area) and the cyclists ride down it incredibly fast and many often ignore the lights etc. I think there should be a (lower) speed limit for cyclists on cycle lanes within busy city areas as well.

I am surprised this sort of incident does not happen on a daily basis.
