i think he did come too late

got to look at a consistently high level of performance over the WHOLE SEASON.

short bursts of good performance is what player of the month awards are for.

got to be either hucks or green for consistent good performance. both had the odd off game - so does everyone - but they've played well for most of the season and i can't think of anyone else who has.

until ashton got 4 in 3 games some people were even questioning whether he was good enough because he hadn't scored enough goals. no way is he our POTS.
