Regency period would have been good as a wealthy landowner or mercantile magnate, a bit Baldrick-y otherwise
I'd have quite enjoyed being a late Victorian colonial official or explorer BUT I'm more likely to have been down a coal mine (dad's family tree) or a shoe cobbler (mum's family tree) which sound less appealing.
1920s & 30s look fun for high society and probably ok for the middle classes.
Assuming same family background/job as now, I'd settle for hitting the world of work pre 1986 Big Bang in the hope of being in the right place at the right time for when the City took off, or failing that at least being in with a good chance of having a nice DB pension and early retirement to look forward to. Can I have today's knowledge so I can avoid the early 90s property crash too?
Current Brexit s**t aside, we are very fortunate to be living in this era.
