Surely a "stamp" or a kick are fouls regardless of intent?

I can't remember either of these incidents from Saturday, mind you.
I agree with you about the midfield though.

Wouldn't describe it as a stamp... he was walking away and stepped on his foot...

Accidental contact in both cases which he presented as deliberate.
