For every phoenix there’s a Titanic. But I think it’s defeatist to say that’s life. The EFL have to take some responsibility for this. I would be thoroughly ashamed to be the EFL administrator who approved the penultimate owner at Bury only to see the mortgage he took out on Gigg Lane with the massive ‘introduction fees’ to third parties. Sheer profiteering and something the EFL could have avoided if they had properly interrogated his intentions.
