what options does the EFL have though?

On one hand these clubs are going to go bust because the EFL is sticking to its guns, so the EFL should be being applauded for that at least.

Unless they are going to bring in even tighter FFP rules, or salary caps, or other regulatory controls like that, how a club runs itself isn't really any of their business is it?

As soon as they do try to do any of that, those clubs fighting for promotion (or trying to avoid relegation by spending) will whinge that they are being handicapped.
