... as I said, Parliamentary democracy is the worst type except for the others, and

referendums are at the bottom of the list of others. MPs are a filter for the prejudices of their constituents, while still being aware that they owe them their jobs. There's also no excuse for ignorance on issues like Brexit among MPs. This is precisely the sort of job they're paid to do. It's not perfect, but no system is.

I didn't vote in the referendum because I thought it was a crap idea (and also because I felt there were arguments on both sides, but I didn't hear them so wasn't able to judge).
