Eddie Howe's been doing it for years without attracting much attention

The big boys are involved in a pissing contest now and are always on the look out for prestigious 'big name' appointments to prove what a big club they are. He'd almost certainly have to go to Everton or somewhere first before the big boys even glanced in his direction (in this country anyway - Dortmund might be interested and I would think that was our main threat).
I remember the exact same question being asked on here about Lambert and Alex Neil...
