Great performance

This lot will play brilliantly vs any team that plays in a medium block with low pressure, it perfectly suits their technical ability and sharp movement off the ball. However, the team still looked capable of creating lots of chances even when Newcastle dropped into a low block, which is promising. I’m assuming most sides will do their homework and actually come and press aggressively though.

Special shout outs to Godfrey and Cantwell today. Both were terrific and have clearly kicked on even more since last season. Both have so much composure. Pretty much every other player was at least worthy of a 7/10 though.

Buendia absolutely mugging off Newcastle players with his shielding was wonderful to see. That side of his game is getting even better.

Pukki is magnificent, but you already knew that!
