There's been some interesting

Comment and research recently about the shift in attitudes amongst the (relatively) young about (away from) valuing 'freedom' and 'liberty'and towards 'security'. Makes me feel concerned about the future shape of our political systems.

If for example we were all to state our top 3 most important political values, I'd put liberty at or very near the top. But I wonder whether that's an increasingly unfashionable view?

I wonder too whether it's fundamentally connected with 'gut' views of the EU.
